Light Jedi or Dark Jedi?
created with QuizFarm.com

You scored as neutral. You're neither. You're not quite good enough to be part of the Light Jedi. However, you're also not evil enough to join the Dark Side. You don't really fit in anywhere- you'd never be committed enough to be part of The Light Side, and you'd get your ass kicked on the Dark Side. Oh well, neutral people never appear in the movies much anyways...

Life After Abortion
This website was created in February 2003 and is a place where post-abortion men and women can get useful information--resources, be able to talk to others who have gone through the same difficulties, and find hope for the future. Also this is an almost daily news column about what could loosely be called "the post-abortion movement." This includes the ministries and events that focus on the negative emotional and spiritual aftermath of abortion.

Secular Counseling/Support Groups:
Exhale (A pro-choice post-abortion recovery resource)
"At Exhale, we believe abortion is a normal experience in the reproductive lives of women and girls. We also believe that feelings of relief, sadness, happiness, grief, empowerment, shame, confusion and guilt are normal too. If you had an abortion, we know it can be hard to talk about and that finding the right person to talk with can be even harder. Exhale is here to listen - without judgment, without bias, and without a political or moral agenda. All calls are free and confidential. Exhale is designed to support you and your experience." The talkline operates in the San Francisco Bay Area, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. through a toll-free number
Phone number: 1-866-4-EXHALE.

The site provides "peer support" from other women who've had an abortion, volunteer helpers, and online information about physical and emotional post-abortion recovery. Also offers support for partners and family members of women. Seeks to have post-abortion syndrome recognized as a medical issue for women, not a political or religious one. Because this is a support site and members are of diverse beliefs, debating the moral or political issues associated with abortion is not permitted.

You can learn skills and tools that will assist you in any of life's stresses. Our practice is primarily conducted over the phone, which allows flexibility in scheduling rarely available with an office practice. Just for Fun: More Quizes

More fun quizes to give us a break from the daily grind.

"What Condom Flavor are You? "

You are very unique, and like to try different things, you have an alright attitude, and are often hyper!
Take This Quiz

Right on!

"What Religion Bests Suits You?"

Average Christian
You're not going to become a minister anytime soon, but you do your best to live your life in a Christian way. This means that although you probably don't attend church every Sunday, you do your best to follow the Ten Commandments, help the needy and generally be an all around good person. Who needs to follow the entire bible anyways? It was written ages ago, and Christ transmuted it by giving his life.
Take This Quiz

Yeah, that sounds about right about me nowadays.

"Which Care Bear Are You?"

You Are Friend Bear!
Need a good friend? Friend Bear would love to be your best buddy bear. She's the perfect example of a friend, too. She's caring, likes to play with you and she's fun to be with. She has a friendly symbol on her tummy. Two smiling flowers!

I'm loyal and honest. And I'm always there if a friend needs to talk or a shoulder to cry on.

Laundry Lessons

The following is a humorous look at lessons I've learned from my parents and from my first experiences with doing laundry on my own.
  • Don't wash those new dark blue jeans or new brightly colored shirts with whites. Let's just say that I have had a load of underwear, sock, and bras color accessorised to blue jeans before. Also, there was that one time my dad returned a previously white sports bra to me pink.
  • Unless you want new doll or baby clothing, pants and shirts made of spandex and sweaters do not go in the dryer. I've had a couple of sweaters that had previously fit, but after shrinking in the dryer, have had to be passed on.
  • A violently vibrating washing machine during the spin cycle doesn't just consitute an amusement ride, but also means the load is unbalanced and needs to be adjusted.
  • The difference in how men and women do laundry. Men typically sort their laundry for wash by 3 categories: dark, greys, and white, often unrelated items being tossed in together. Women, on the other hand, sort by 5 categories: whites, bright colors, dark colors, delicates, and linens and/or temperature.

Contraceptive/Pregnancy Prevention Information

I personally believe education and information on pregnancy prevention is a key part of preventing the majority of unplanned pregnancies. Choosing the birth control that is right for you can be an empowering experience.  There are many different kinds of birth control options. They vary in price, difficulty to use, availability, side effects, and cost. What works well for one person may not be a good choice for another, so research your options and talk to your healthcare provider to make a birth control choice that works well for you.

However it's important to note that backing up your primary birth control with using a barrier method (such as a condom or contraceptive sponge for example) in addition to your regular birth control method will further provide protection from pregnancy & STDs.

Fwd: I've Arrived

This was forwarded to me in e-mail:

A Minneapolis couple decided to go to Florida to thaw out during a particularly icy winter. They planned to stay at the same hotel where they spent their honeymoon 20 years earlier. Because of hectic schedules, it was difficult to coordinate their travel schedules. So, the husband left Minnesota and flew to Florida on Thursday, with his wife flying down the following day. The husband checked into the hotel. There was a computer in his room, so he decided to send an email to his wife. However, he accidentally left out one letter in her email address, and without realizing his error, sent the email.
Meanwhile, somewhere in Houston, a widow had just returned home from her husband's funeral. He was a minister who was called home to glory following a heart attack. The widow decided to check her email expecting messages from relatives and friends. After reading the first message, she screamed and fainted. The widow's son rushed into the room, found his mother on the floor, and saw the computer screen which read:

To: My Loving Wife
Subject: I've Arrived

I know you're surprised to hear from me. They have computers here now and you are allowed to send emails to your loved ones. I've just arrived and have been checked in. I see that everything has been prepared for your arrival tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing you then! Hope your journey is as uneventful as mine was.

Every once in a while, I'll post some of the entertaining or informative forwards I get in my e-mail:

Birth Control Pills Linked to Depression

BIRTH CONTROL PILLS LINKED TO DEPRESSION
Last Update: Monday, February 28, 2005.
"New research shows women taking the oral contraceptive pill are almost twice as likely to be depressed as those who do not. The Alfred Psychiatry Research Centre (Australia) studied 60 women, and found that those taking the pill containing both oestrogen and progesterone were almost twice as likely to be depressed as those who did not."

CONTRACEPTIVE PILL INCREASES RISK OF MENTAL ILLNESS
"Studies have shown that the contraceptive pill can lower the levels and metabolism of certain vitamins and minerals in the body, including zinc, copper, folic acid, vitamins B6 and B12. These nutrients are essential to control emotions and moods, and deficiencies could account for the depression and increased risk of suicide amongst women taking the pill." J. NUTRIT. & ENVIRON. MED. 1998, 121-7

Please note that the first study was based on women without a history of mood disorders

"Patients becoming significantly depressed while taking oral contraceptives should stop the medication and use an alternate method of contraception in an attempt to determine whether the symptom is drug related. Women with a history of depression should be carefully observed and the drug discontinued if significant depression occurs."

Note: this precaution is included in the prescribing information for most or all oral contraceptives. What prompted me to write on this is my own experience with oral contraceptives and depression. I'm not trying to discourage women from going on the Pill, but rather caution women with a history of depression of this potential side effect.
